Cybersecurity Engineer - OT

Introduction

Imagine your work directly contributing to the safety of bridges, tunnels, and locks in the Netherlands and beyond. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will work at the intersection of IT and OT within complex automation projects, where cybersecurity is a permanent and indispensable component.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in multidisciplinary project teams to develop secure IT and OT solutions.
• Design cybersecurity architectures according to the V-model and Systems Engineering principles.
• Implement security guidelines, including requirements from Rijkswaterstaat.
• Configure and manage networks, firewalls, and virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Manage and patch Windows Server environments, including test installations, and create patch advisories and security documentation.
• Secure OT environments like SCADA systems and PLCs.
• Identify vulnerabilities and monitor current threats.
• Actively contribute to knowledge sharing within an experienced cybersecurity team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer (OT).
• Proven experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization and OT environments such as PLC and SCADA (preferably Siemens).
• Experience with designing and documenting according to the V-model.
• Familiarity with relevant standards and frameworks such as IEC 62443, ISO 27001, NIS2, BIO, or CIS.
• Affinity with engineering, design, and documentation.
• Excellent command of both Dutch and English languages.
• Experience within infrastructural projects (bridges, tunnels, locks) is a plus.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
