About the Position

Introduction

Galaxy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President, Senior Quality Engineer with a strong focus on automation to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building, executing, and maintaining large, complex automated test suites, contributing to consistent, high-quality software releases. This role requires close collaboration with development, operations, security, and other quality engineering teams to deliver excellent software products in the dynamic digital assets space.

Responsibilities

Collaborate on early analysis and requirements to advocate for the testability of new products and features, ensuring automated approaches.
Design, develop, maintain, and enhance scalable test automation frameworks using Python or similar languages.
Build and execute automated test suites for APIs, backend services, Web UI, Mobile Application UI, and blockchain-related components.
Drive quality across the SDLC by working closely with developers, DevOps, product managers, and other business stakeholders.
Analyze test results, identify patterns or anomalies, and proactively suggest solutions and improvements.
Contribute to performance testing, security validation, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
Mentor and guide junior SDETs and QA engineers; establish quality strategy and best practices across teams.
Champion defect management using JIRA, documentation via Confluence, and code collaboration via GitHub.
Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and quality metrics dashboards to inform stakeholders of product readiness.
Stay current with industry trends, especially within fintech, crypto, and blockchain, applying them to improve test practices.
Embrace and champion the thoughtful adoption of AI to improve team performance and business outcomes.
Leverage AI tools (e.g., generative AI, automation platforms, data copilots) to improve productivity, decision-making, and output quality in daily work.

Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in automated testing with a focus on web applications, mobile applications, APIs of various protocols (REST, FIX, Websockets, etc.), and scheduled tasks (via CLI or other means).
Proven experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.
Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, or JavaScript.
Excellent understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
Experience with version control tools such as Git.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with performance testing tools and techniques.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Experience with security testing and vulnerability scanning tools.
Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
Familiarity with Cryptocurrency or blockchain technologies.
