Responsibilities

Management:

• Resolving incidents.
• Executing changes.
• Contributing to problem resolution.
• Implementing security policies for databases.
• Executing lifecycle management projects.

Service Improvement:

• Reviewing and proposing improvements for changes and design documentation.
• Developing/implementing housekeeping tasks.
• Preventing incidents.

Consultancy:

• Participating in campaign project teams.
• Contributing to test processes.
• Participating in project teams for larger changes.
• Resolving performance issues.
• Optimizing databases.

Requirements

• You possess at least HBO (higher vocational education) work and thinking level.
• You have some experience with DB2 and/or Oracle databases.
• You have some experience with Linux and/or AIX.
• You are familiar with Agile/Scrum and ITIL.
• You enjoy working in a DevOps environment.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

About Company

For the Tax Authorities, we are looking for a System Engineer DBMS DB2 OPS. The DCS DBMS team is responsible for the lifecycle management and administration of midrange database management systems (DBMS) Db2 on AIX and IBM Cloudpak Systems (Linux), Oracle Exadata, and Sybase. The databases of these DBMS are located in complex high-availability data centers. Work is performed at the intersection of operating systems and applications. Important aspects include database hosting, connection requirements, business continuity management, quality of service, and security. To achieve architectural objectives, multiple assignments are continuously executed, ranging from research assignments to the realization and implementation of DBMS versions and associated management tooling. The team currently consists of about 16 employees.
