Staff Software Engineer, Detection and Response

GitLab is seeking Staff Software Engineers to join our Detection and Response team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and resilient systems that protect GitLab and our users from security threats. You will work on critical security infrastructure, focusing on detection engineering, incident response automation, and proactive threat hunting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing security controls and tools to detect and respond to security incidents.
• Developing and maintaining security-related automation, playbooks, and scripts.
• Participating in on-call rotations to respond to security alerts and incidents.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into our products and infrastructure.
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the overall growth of the team.
