Introduction

As a Staff Developer Advocacy Engineer at Grafana Labs, you will lead the development of an 'Interactive Learning Plugin'—an open-source tool embedded within the Grafana interface. Your primary goal will be to create in-product onboarding, progress tracking, and educational features that help users master observability principles. This role is ideal for an AI-evolved developer who is passionate about creating production-grade code and enabling seamless learning experiences within a leading open-source platform. You will operate in a 100% remote, high-trust environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the 'Interactive Learning Plugin,' an open-source tool for in-product observability education within Grafana.
• Develop seamless onboarding and progress-tracking features for both community and enterprise users.
• Utilize AI-first development methodologies, including tools like Cursor and Claude Code, for scoping and test generation.
• Iterate rapidly on features while maintaining rigorous quality standards, leveraging agentic development workflows.
• Work with TypeScript and Go within a Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Apply observability principles (metrics, logs, and traces) to enhance the learning experience itself.
• Build infrastructure that empowers non-technical contributors to create content.

Requirements

• Experience shipping production-grade code.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Go.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of observability principles (metrics, logs, traces).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and workflows (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code).
• Demonstrated ability to work in a 100% remote environment.
