About the Position

The Crypto team is actively seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Software Engineer to develop a next-generation payments product that merges blockchain's potential with Mollie's renowned simplicity and reliability.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain highly scalable, reliable, and secure payment systems using cloud-native technologies.
Collaborate across Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Write efficient, clean, and well-tested code (e.g., unit, integration, and end-to-end tests).
Actively participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
Promote and develop a culture of iterative improvement, providing and receiving regular feedback.
Take ownership of the full software development life cycle—from understanding business value, through solution design, all the way to deployment and operational excellence.
Share knowledge with the team and learn from others through pair programming and mentoring.
Actively contribute to creating a great team spirit and positive working environment.

Requirements

BSc or MSc in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience building scalable and reliable backend applications.
Proficiency in a modern programming language (e.g., Kotlin, Java, Go, C#).
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
Experience or strong interest in blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies, and Web3 development.

Nice to Have

Experience working in the FinTech or payments industry.
Knowledge of specific blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Solana, Cosmos) and related tools.
Experience with smart contract development (e.g., Solidity).
