Software Engineer (SGX & Privacy)

Flashbots started in 2020 as a research and development organization formed to mitigate the negative externalities and existential risks posed by Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) to smart-contract blockchains, starting with Ethereum. Introduction

Flashbots is a research and development organization founded in 2020 to address the negative externalities and existential risks of Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) in smart-contract blockchains, particularly Ethereum. We are dedicated to building decentralized products that enhance the decentralization of public blockchains and empower users.

We are seeking a senior engineer to spearhead the development of our SGX-related products. In this role, you will work closely with Robert Miller to actualize an original approach to democratize MEV, as described in his Eth Research post, "MEV-SGX: A sealed bid MEV auction design." This position offers significant autonomy to implement products and contribute to research.

Responsibilities

• Developing a fast EVM environment for use within an SGX.
• Building and maintaining new products for Flashbots searchers, miners, and retail users.
• Contributing to the Flashbots roadmap.
• Writing examples and documentation for public consumption.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working on production systems.
• Experience in C and/or C++ programming languages.
• Experience with cryptography.

Nice to Have

• Experience with DevOps.
• Experience with Solidity.
• Experience with at least one of Go or Rust.
• Experience with Ethereum or EVM-based chains.
• Experience with Geth or other Ethereum clients.
• Experience with strategies currently used for MEV.
• Ability to showcase available open-source work.
