About the Position

OPENLANE is a leading online wholesale auction marketplace for used vehicles. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer with a focus on backend development to join our dynamic engineering team in Carmel, IN. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust backend systems using .NET technologies.

What You Will Be Doing:

Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend services and APIs using .NET Core/C#.
System Architecture: Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to design and implement robust and scalable system architectures.
Database Management: Work with various database technologies (SQL Server, CosmosDB, etc.) to design efficient schemas, write optimized queries, and manage data.
API Development: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs to support various front-end applications and integrations.
Code Quality: Ensure high code quality through comprehensive testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal application performance and responsiveness.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including frontend engineers, QA, product managers, and UI/UX designers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Mentorship: Potentially mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for new and existing features.
Troubleshooting and Support: Provide operational support and troubleshoot production issues as needed.
