As a Software Engineer on the ZipX AI team, you will be instrumental in defining the future of AI-native product experiences in enterprise procurement. ZipX encompasses the entire AI stack at Zip, from fundamental infrastructure to intelligent agents automating complex workflows and AI-driven contract orchestration tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and build highly reliable, production-grade AI products and features, including agentic workflows, LLM-powered automation, and intelligent document processing.
• Translate intricate AI concepts into intuitive, customer-facing experiences that reduce manual effort and enable smarter procurement decisions.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features, from initial scoping and architecture to deployment and iteration based on customer feedback.
• Develop high-quality, extensible, and maintainable code that underpins Zip's AI-first product strategy.
• Construct scalable APIs, backend services, and frontend components to seamlessly integrate AI capabilities into Zip's core platform.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience (for most roles).
• BS or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics).
• Experience with web application and API development in production environments. Our stack includes Python, Javascript, React, and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with industry-standard build, test, and deploy tools such as Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Kibana, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Eagerness and ability to quickly master new frameworks, architecture patterns, and programming languages.
• Exposure to AI-driven automation or strong interest in collaborating with AI/ML teams to develop intelligent workflows.

Nice to Have

• Experience working at a small company with diverse responsibilities.
• Experience with API connections to external systems like Jira, ServiceNow, Slack, etc.
