Introduction

Zip is seeking a Software Engineer to join its AI team, ZipX, to build AI-native product experiences in enterprise procurement. You will work on foundational AI infrastructure, intelligent agents for workflow automation, and AI-driven contract orchestration tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and build highly reliable, production-grade AI products and features, including agentic workflows, LLM-powered automation, and intelligent document processing.
• Translate complex AI concepts into intuitive, customer-facing experiences.
• Own features end-to-end, from scoping and architecture to shipping and iteration based on customer feedback.
• Write high-quality, extensible, and maintainable code for Zip's AI-first product strategy.
• Build scalable APIs, backend services, and frontend components to integrate AI capabilities into Zip's core platform.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• BS or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding.
• Experience with web application and API development in production environments.
• Familiarity with Python, Javascript, React, and GraphQL.
• Experience with industry-standard build, test, and deploy tools such as Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Kibana, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Ability and interest to quickly learn new frameworks, architecture patterns, and programming languages.
• Exposure to AI-driven automation or interest in working with AI/ML teams to build intelligent workflows.

Nice to Have

• Experience working at a small company with diverse responsibilities.
• Experience working with API connections with external systems like Jira, ServiceNow, Slack, etc.
