Are you an experienced software developer looking to make a significant impact? Join AFAS as a Software Engineer! Our software automates business processes for thousands of organizations in the Netherlands. For example, a third of Dutch citizens receive their pay slips through our software, and our system is used in the production of almost all bread baked in the Netherlands. We achieve all of this with one standard package, without custom work.

Our Product Development team consists of over 150 dedicated professionals, including more than 70 developers across 10 teams, working on various projects and technologies. We have developed our own frontend and backend frameworks for all new developments. As a software developer, you'll contribute to expanding our product and ensuring the success of over 3,000,000 users.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work in a team with developers, designers, and test engineers. Together, you will build diverse projects such as:

• New functionalities for talent management and onboarding.
• Tools to make cloud recovery operations faster and smarter.
• Integrations with web shops for automatic invoice processing.
• Implementation of passkey login methods.

You will also develop yourself and your colleagues through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical sessions. Your work will involve coding, reviewing, and testing. You will share your knowledge within your team and with the broader developer group, continuously enhancing technical skills and staying sharp together.

Requirements

• HBO or university level thinking and working ability.
• 2+ years of work experience as a software developer.
• Familiarity with the .NET Core platform using C# and a desire to further develop in this area.
• Proficiency in working with Microsoft SQL.
• Ability to develop software using various patterns and techniques.
• A passion for programming and technology.
• An open attitude and the desire to develop yourself and help others grow.
• Able to work 32 hours per week (we have a four-day work week, with Friday as a dedicated development day).
• Live within commutable distance to Leusden. During your first six months, you will work four days a week in the office to get to know AFAS thoroughly, then a minimum of three days a week.
• Ability to work independently and accurately.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
