The Alexa AI team is seeking an experienced and self-driven software development engineer to help us build a state-of-the-art Natural Language Understanding (NLU) platform and services. We are working on challenging problems to enable developers to build magical voice experiences for millions of Alexa customers. Our research and development work is on the forefront of conversational AI and we are looking for a passionate and talented engineer to come help us make NLU solutions simple and more effective for our customers. As a Software Development Engineer on the Alexa AI team, you will be responsible for a range of activities, including:

• Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable and reliable software systems.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to integrate machine learning models into production systems.
• Optimize existing systems for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems.
