Introduction

As a Software Architect, you will define the technical direction for complex software platforms at enterprise clients in South Holland. You will divide your time between the Rotterdam office and on-site work with development teams, translating business strategy into clean, scalable, and future-proof architectures. You will navigate the full spectrum of modern cloud-native development, including domain-driven design, microservices, and event-driven patterns, while transparently managing trade-offs in cost, complexity, time-to-market, and operational reality.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical direction for complex software platforms at enterprise clients.
• Translate business strategy into clean, scalable, and future-proof architectures.
• Work with modern cloud-native development principles: domain-driven design, microservices, event-driven patterns.
• Make trade-offs (cost, complexity, time-to-market, operational reality) transparent.
• Coach engineering teams.
• Lead architecture reviews.
• Act as a bridge between CTOs and developers.

Requirements

• Comfortable defending a roadmap in a boardroom.
• Adept at reviewing service boundaries in pull requests.
