About the Position

Introduction

0x Labs is seeking a Smart Contract Engineer to join their Protocol team. The mission of 0x Labs is to create a tokenized world where all value can flow freely. They are pioneers in the blockchain space, having contributed to Ethereum standards like ERC-721, and are building the open-source global backbone for decentralized exchange with their 0x protocol. This role involves driving high-level decisions on protocol architecture, solving greenfield challenges, and owning smart contract development for their multi-chain ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Ensure the 0x protocol remains resilient, flexible, and future-proof for decentralized exchange.
Research and make high-level decisions regarding 0x protocol architecture, incentive structures, and features.
Address novel challenges related to liquidity, market structures, governance, multi-chain interoperability, security, and mechanism design.
Own the smart contract architecture and development, including specifying, implementing, testing, and auditing protocol upgrades and additions.
Partner with DeFi projects and provide Web3 developers access to exchange infrastructure.
Stay informed on the rapidly evolving blockchain/crypto space to introduce innovative functionality.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external engineering teams, research, data science, product management, executive leadership, and recruiting.
Analyze transaction and usage statistics to identify and prioritize areas for improvement.

Requirements

Experience writing high-quality, well-tested Solidity.
Knowledge of the EVM, DeFi protocols, and gas optimization.
Strong communication, ownership, and collaboration skills.
Ability to learn and adapt to a rapidly evolving tech stack and industry.
