About the Position

Backbase is a leading provider of Engagement Banking solutions, with products utilized by major financial institutions globally. We are seeking a Senior Technical Writer / Senior Documentation Engineer to join our documentation team, providing high-quality support for our products, APIs, and SDKs. You will thrive in a fast-paced agile environment, creating and maintaining clear, accurate, and easy-to-understand developer content that guides our customers and partners through successful implementation and extension of our software solutions.

Responsibilities

Create, transform, and manage complex content for the Backbase Engagement Banking Platform (APIs, SDKs, services, and features), targeting developers integrating or extending our software.
Organize documentation and establish a consistent writing style to enhance usability and impact, aligning with team and business strategy.
Collaborate closely with Product teams (Product Owners, Development, Design, QA engineers) from early development stages to deliver relevant, concise, and clear content.
Work within a distributed team of technical writers, building and delivering content for your assigned domain, and ensuring alignment with documentation team standards through peer reviews and feedback.
Contribute to the evolution of the technical writing function by identifying areas for improvement in documentation workflow and processes, and maintaining an efficient, innovative documentation platform.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business IT, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Technical Writer, Documentation Engineer, or a similar role in a software company, with a strong focus on API, SDK, and platform documentation.
Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and SaaS products.
Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills in English.
Ability to describe complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
Proficiency with modern documentation tools and practices (Markdown, Git, OpenAPI/Swagger, CI/CD for documentation, component content management systems, etc.).
Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, SDKs, web services, and cloud technologies.
Self-starter, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a global team.
