Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, resilient, and high-performance software for Mollie's core platform.
Lead the architecture and design of new features and systems, ensuring alignment with Mollie's overall technical strategy.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
Drive continuous improvement in our engineering practices, including code quality, testing, and deployment processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the stability and availability of our platform.
Participate in on-call rotations to support critical systems during off-hours.

Requirements

10+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on building scalable and resilient distributed systems.
Extensive experience with Go or Java, and a deep understanding of their ecosystems.
Strong architectural skills, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex software solutions.
Experience with cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, AWS, GCP) and microservices architecture.
Solid understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL), caching mechanisms, and messaging queues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
A passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.

Nice to Have

Experience in the FinTech industry or with payment processing systems.
Familiarity with event-driven architectures and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka).
