Our Senior Staff Engineers lead the most critical and impactful projects, influencing our engineering culture and shaping the practices for their organizations. They are responsible for driving the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for our enterprise-grade products.

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will:

• Lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable, and high-performance software systems.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and deliver innovative solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Drive architectural decisions and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our platform.
• Contribute to the overall technical strategy and roadmap of Celonis.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them to solve real-world problems.
• Evangelize best practices, advocate for high-quality code, and participate in code reviews.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on building distributed systems and enterprise-grade applications.
• Has a strong background in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Scala, Go, or Python.
• Has extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Possesses expertise in database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data processing technologies (Kafka, Spark).
• Has a deep understanding of architectural patterns, design principles, and software development best practices.
• Is a strong communicator and can effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Has a proven track record of leading successful projects and mentoring engineers.
• Holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Nice to have:

• Experience with financial industries or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Experience with streaming data processing and real-time analytics.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong history of technical publications.
• Experience working in an international environment.
• Fluent in English.
