Senior Software Engineer (Zig/Rust)

Introduction

Syndica is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement a high-performance Solana validator client using Zig and Rust. You will contribute to the decentralization of blockchain ecosystems within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Understanding and Communicating Rust Code: Map and accurately communicate how the existing Rust client works.
• Writing high-quality code in Zig: Translate Rust code into Zig while maintaining high-quality, performant, and readable code.
• Performance Research: Iteratively analyze and optimize software bottlenecks in Zig, leveraging high-performance tools such as SIMD operations to meet requirements.
• Code Ownership: Lead the implementation, benchmarking, and testing of validator components from start to finish.
• Collaboration: Leverage strong communication skills to break down complex ideas and collaborate effectively across a large group of engineers.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience using Rust.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience.
• Excited about contributing to the decentralization of blockchain ecosystems.

Nice to Have

• Experience in memory-managed languages (Zig/C/C++).
