About the Position
Introduction
NVIDIA's data center systems, including DGX and HGX, are central to the company's expanding enterprise and cloud provider businesses. These platforms leverage NVIDIA GPUs, NVLink, InfiniBand networking, Grace CPUs, and an optimized AI and HPC software stack. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop simulators for next-generation NVIDIA DGX Server platforms. Simulations are crucial for building highly scalable systems and this role involves collaborating with world-class hardware and software engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop simulation platforms for next-gen NVIDIA DGX platforms.
- Build, integrate, and enhance simulator components with new hardware features, and create supporting technical documentation.
- Implement the full software stack on the DGX Simulator, working closely with global hardware modeling, kernel, and platform driver teams.
- Improve performance, debug issues across user and kernel stacks, and automate execution flows.
Requirements
- Proficient in C/C++ with strong software development, optimization, user, and kernel mode debugging skills.
- Solid understanding of OS fundamentals and system architecture, including low-level interfaces such as buses, controllers, and interrupts.
- Good understanding of hypervisors and hardware emulators (e.g., QEMU, KVM, VDK, Simics).
- Working experience with a major Linux distribution (e.g., Ubuntu, RedHat, SLES).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with a globally distributed engineering team.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience in hardware and software stack bring-up using simulators and emulators.
- Previous experience with hardware interfaces like PCIe, SPI, I3C, and Linux boot solutions on x86 & ARM class platforms.
- Experience in Out of Band and Inband management architectures.
- Contributions to QEMU/KVM open-source repositories.
- Experience with Verilog and SystemC.
