Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to ensure new features are performant and reliable, developing innovative frameworks to tackle unique testing challenges.
• Accelerate software development at Zip by championing the adoption of AI-driven tools, spanning from IDEs to code reviews and test generators.
• Enhance velocity and productivity by identifying and resolving friction points across development environments, testing patterns, CI pipelines, deployment processes, and feature flag conventions.
• Improve product quality and codebase health by sunsetting legacy patterns and establishing new frameworks and guardrails to guide engineers towards best practices.
• Optimize the customer experience throughout the product by systematically refining frameworks and addressing/preventing issues at the platform level.
• Spearhead the development of a new deploy and release process, facilitating daily deployments while ensuring customer protection from bugs and incidents through methods like canaries, traffic replay, and bundling feature releases for Enterprise customers.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• BS or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field (e.g., physics or math).
• Experience with modern CI tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Buildkite, Jenkins, and Docker.
• Strong attention to detail and a robust ownership mindset.
• Proven ability to diagnose obstacles, debug friction, and drive velocity.
