With our applications running on Google Cloud Kubernetes Engine, we support a proprietary banking core that can scale to handle millions of transactions a day. Our stack includes MongoDB and Spanner for persistence, Pub/Sub for asynchronous event processing, Dataflow for data transformation paired with BigQuery and Google Cloud Storage for data storage and analytics. Our backend services are written in Java and our data pipelines are built in Scala.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end delivery of key business initiatives, from product discovery and system design to feature launch.
Architect and evolve core distributed services for reliability, scalability, and performance.
Design and deliver large-scale data-intensive applications using cutting-edge techniques in real-time transaction decisioning, stream-processing, and machine learning.
Evolve organization-wide engineering standards for architecture, testing, monitoring practices, and documentation.
Mentor engineers through code and architecture reviews, raising the technical bar of the team.
Partner with product, data, and business stakeholders to shape technical direction and the product roadmap.

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience, with significant backend experience using a JVM language, preferably Java.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and multi-threaded programming.
Experience with cloud-hosted services, such as AWS or GCP.
Proficiency in both RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have

Experience with Scala.
Familiarity with Google Cloud Kubernetes Engine, MongoDB, Spanner, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, BigQuery, and Google Cloud Storage.
