About the Position
Introduction
NVIDIA is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Signal and Power Integrity Engineer to join our dynamic hardware team. This is an incredible opportunity to contribute to state-of-the-art technology and make a significant impact on groundbreaking projects in GPU and AI computing. We are a company that values innovation and continuous reinvention, and we're looking for individuals who thrive on complex challenges.
Responsibilities
- Develop creative Signal Integrity (SI) solutions for intricate system design problems.
- Perform system-level SI simulations for high-speed interfaces such as NVlinks (200Gbs+), USB-4, PCIe5, GDDR6, and LPDDR5X.
- Model vias, connectors, sockets, and various system components using 3D Electromagnetic (EM) tools.
- Design and optimize Power Delivery Networks (PDN) across packages and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).
- Continuously improve SI/PI models through rigorous lab measurements and correlation.
- Automate simulations, collect and analyze data, and visualize results using tools like JMP, MATLAB, or similar platforms.
- Collaborate in a cross-functional role to optimize package, PCB, ASIC, and mixed-signal circuit designs.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of industry experience in Signal Integrity and Power Integrity (SI/PI).
- Demonstrated SI/PI work on one or more high-speed signaling standards, such as PCI Express, USB, SATA, HDMI, HBM, DDR5, GDDR6, or LPDDR5X.
- Hands-on experience with 3D modeling tools like ANSYS HFSS/Q3D and 2.5D tools such as ANSYS SIWAVE, or similar.
- Experience with PDN evaluation using layout extraction tools for packages and PCBs, and spice-based time-domain simulations.
- Strong background in system-level timing or loss budgeting, including silicon, package, and board impairments.
- Familiarity with the use of Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Time-Domain Reflectometers (TDR), Digital Storage Oscilloscopes (DSO), Pattern Generators/Error Detectors (ParBERT), and applications like JMP or MATLAB is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Expertise in high-speed interface SI/PI design on various industry-standard system platforms.
- Experience with lab measurements, debugging, and SI lab correlation using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and VNAs.
- Knowledge of circuit design, board/package component design, link architecture, and timing budget methodologies.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: 136,000 USD - 218,500 USD for Level 3, and 168,000 USD - 264,500 USD for Level 4.
- Eligible for equity and comprehensive benefits package.
