    About the Position

    Introduction

    We are looking for a Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer to join our fast-growing, ambitious, and globally-minded Compliance department, specifically within our Regulatory Compliance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring Mollie meets its regulatory obligations, supporting ongoing business initiatives, and advising on key regulatory developments. You will act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to our business, playing a vital role in Mollie's mission to eliminate financial bureaucracy by building financial products that are easy, smart, and beautiful.

    Responsibilities

    • Own a portfolio of regulatory topics with increasing complexity and impact as Mollie evolves, including but not limited to, KYC/KYB, AML, Payments, PSD2, Governance, Consumer Protection, and Data Protection.
    • Proactively monitor regulatory developments across the regions Mollie operates in and identify potential impacts and opportunities.
    • Drive the implementation of new and revised regulatory requirements, translating abstract regulatory texts into tangible changes for the business.
    • Advise Mollie's business and product teams at all stages of the product lifecycle on regulatory topics and provide solutions to navigate compliance challenges.
    • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Risk, Product, Operations) to ensure holistic compliance and a consistent approach.
    • Act as a point of contact for regulators and external advisors (e.g., DNB, BaFin, FCA, ACPR), facilitating discussions and ensuring timely and accurate responses.
    • Provide training and awareness sessions to internal teams on regulatory compliance matters.
    • Review and approve marketing materials, product specifications, and internal policies and procedures for regulatory compliance.
    • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of Mollie's Compliance Management System and internal control framework.

    Requirements

    • At least 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance within a financial institution (e.g., payment service provider, bank, fintech).
    • Strong understanding of key regulatory frameworks such as PSD2/E-money Directive, AMLD, GDPR/Data Protection, Consumer Protection, and Governance requirements.
    • Proven ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a keen eye for detail.
    • A proactive, self-starter attitude, comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Fluency in English (both written and verbal).

    Nice to Have

    • Experience with regulatory supervision frameworks in multiple European jurisdictions.
    • Knowledge of emerging technologies and their regulatory implications in the financial sector.
    • Professional certification in compliance (e.g., CAMS, CSSA).
    • Fluency in Dutch (both written and verbal).
