Introduction

GiveWell is seeking a Senior Recruiter to transform how they find the world's most effective researchers. This role is beyond traditional talent acquisition; you will be identifying rare polymaths, from economists to neuroscientists, who can oversee hundreds of millions of dollars in life-saving grants. You will manage the entire hiring process, aiming for a recruitment standard so high that only about 0.1% of candidates receive an offer.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom heuristics and sourcing tools using natural language prompting.
• Conduct rigorous A/B tests on hiring funnels to remove bias and noise.
• Build and maintain data architectures for tracking candidate success metrics.
• Work with executive leadership to improve assessment strategies through quantitative data.
• Oversee the entire hiring lifecycle for research roles.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in talent acquisition or a related field (implied by seniority and experience tag).
• Ability to build technical solutions and data models using AI-assisted development tools.
• Background in identifying highly specialized or 'rare polymath' talent.
• Strong analytical skills and a preference for evidence-based decision-making.
• Experience in A/B testing and data tracking for recruitment processes.
• Excellent written communication for executive collaboration and process refinement.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with effective altruism principles.
• Experience with Greenhouse or similar ATS for data tracking and process management.
• Knowledge of development economics, global health, or related research fields.
• Background as a 'vibe coder' or in AI-assisted development.
