Introduction

MoonPay is seeking a Senior Product Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in shaping our product strategy, with a specific focus on the customer onboarding journey. This position involves combining deep analytical insights, experimental design, and strong stakeholder partnerships to drive substantial business impact. You will be a key contributor to our mission of onboarding the world to the decentralized economy.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth insights and recommendations based on a deep understanding of MoonPay's product flows, identifying and driving opportunities for product improvements and enhanced customer safety.
• Collaborate closely with product teams and business stakeholders to review product performance and deliver data-driven strategies for increased product effectiveness.
• Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), design tracking mechanisms, and set up monitoring for new product launches and changes.
• Oversee and implement A/B tests and other experimental designs to optimize product features and user experiences.
• Design, build, and scale both internal and external data products, including dashboards, reports, data models, algorithms, and integrations, to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Clearly communicate complex concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences across various teams, ensuring clarity and understanding to drive critical business decisions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a data scientist or data analyst, preferably in a product-focused role.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and data visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of statistics and probability fundamentals, with experience in conducting large-scale A/B tests.
• Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with product and operations teams.
• Experience within the fintech and/or crypto space is preferred.
• Versatility and willingness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly summarize complex data findings and decisions for various audiences.

Nice to Have

• Experience with dbt, BigQuery, Looker, and Python.
• Experience working in startup or scale-up environments.
• Experience within the KYC (Know Your Customer) / Onboarding space.
• Working knowledge of Machine Learning principles and experience partnering or driving ML initiatives.
