About the Position

Introduction

Are you ready to elevate the architecture, implementation, and management of cloud-native platforms? ilionx is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our team in Maastricht. You will be instrumental in designing and building scalable and resilient solutions for our clients, with a strong focus on DevOps principles and automation.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our cloud-native platforms, including:

Designing and implementing OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters.
Setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
Advising clients on optimal cloud-native strategies and architectures.
Optimizing platform performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
Introducing and implementing the latest cloud-native technologies (service mesh, serverless, etc.).
Coaching and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

You are a driven IT professional with at least 5 years of relevant experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or SRE. You possess in-depth knowledge of:

OpenShift and Kubernetes: You understand the intricacies of these platforms and have experience managing them in production environments.
Cloud Native Ecosystem: Familiarity with tools and concepts such as Helm, Istio, Prometheus, Grafana, ArgoCD, Kafka, and other Cloud Native technologies.
Automation: You embrace Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and have experience with tools like Terraform and Ansible.
DevOps Principles: You champion the DevOps culture and foster collaboration between development and operations.
Scripting: Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.

Nice to Have

Knowledge of and experience with public clouds like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
