About the Position

Introduction

We are the JTech practice at Sopra Steria, providing customized, end-to-end technology and software solutions to large organizations and (semi-)governmental bodies. Our goal is to empower clients to make informed choices and achieve results. Our client base spans government, financial services, and industrial sectors, all playing a significant societal or economic role in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

Modernizing an outdated Java 8 application to the latest LTS version.
Migrating entire OTAP environments from on-premise RHEL servers to Azure (AKS).
Advising on the implementation of OpenShift.
Converting Jenkins CI/CD pipelines to Azure pipelines.
Defining steps for deploying applications in a Kubernetes cluster (e.g., using Helm, Dockerfile, Podman, Maven dependencies).
Selecting new frameworks such as Spring or Quarkus.
Making existing unit and integration tests more effective.
Advising the business on the security and stability of the application landscape.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
Proficient in at least two frameworks, such as Spring or Quarkus.
Experience with and ability to apply testing methodologies (unit, integration, acceptance tests).
In-depth knowledge and application of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, and OpenShift.
Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
Experience working in accordance with DevOps principles.
Contribution to software architecture and technical design.
Enjoys working collaboratively in a team.
Possesses a positive mindset and a solution-oriented attitude.
Capable of enthusiastically sharing knowledge and experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent relevant education.
Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
