Requirements

At least a completed Bachelor's degree;
At least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer;
Experience with Java 8+;
Experience with Spring Boot/Spring Cloud;
Experience working with GIT & CI/CD pipelines;
Knowledge about SCRUM/AGILE/DevOps/LEAN;
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

Knowledge of Reactive programming;
Knowledge of networking concepts;
Knowledge of other coding or scripting tools like JavaScript, C++, Python or Bash.

About Company

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer who likes to work within a large financial organization in Amsterdam. You will work within the team responsible for delivering and building the firewall automation service. The team consists of 15 engineers, working in an Agile/Scrum environment. The organization is in the process of moving some components from JavaScript to Java microservices. You will work closely with 2 or 3 other developers in a microservice team. This department supports the organization with a crucial service that forms the foundation of their cloud environment. You will be part of a DevOps team made up of highly skilled software engineers with infrastructure knowledge. The organization aims to expand this team (consisting of micro-teams) with excellent software development skills and accelerate the development of Java-based microservices. Besides software development, you will also spend a lot of time guiding and helping developers within the team.
