About the Position

Introduction

Chainalysis is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their Hexagate team. The engineering team at Chainalysis is dedicated to solving complex technical challenges and building products that foster trust in cryptocurrencies. This role focuses on cybersecurity for on-chain and web3 assets, developing a real-time detection and response platform powered by ML and LLMs. The ideal candidate will help define architectural patterns, modernize existing systems, and empower product teams with reliable and scalable infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Set architectural standards and define the "Golden Path" for building and deploying applications, ensuring high velocity for product teams while maintaining reliability for institutional FinTech clients.
Lead modernization and migration efforts, evolving the tech stack by migrating legacy components to Kubernetes, robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and optimized CI/CD workflows.
Design and maintain scalable, reproducible infrastructure to provide underlying horsepower and elasticity for multi-chain ingestion and detection engines.
Implement SRE principles, defining system constraints, SLOs, and observability patterns to ensure the platform meets contractual uptime and performance obligations.
Build internal tooling and platforms to improve developer experience and empower engineers to own their services from development to production.
Mentor backend engineers on operational best practices to foster a culture of shared ownership.
Take ownership of the platform's stability, speed, and security.

Requirements

Senior Infrastructure Experience: Built and operated large-scale production environments, preferably in FinTech, Enterprise SaaS, or high-growth startups.
The "Strategic Blend": Deep expertise across DevOps, Infrastructure, and SRE; capable of designing patterns to prevent failures, not just fixing them.
Modern Stack Mastery: Proven experience with Kubernetes, AWS, and Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi/Terraform).
Coding Proficiency: Comfortable writing and reviewing code in Python, Go, or Rust to build internal tools and automations.
Coaching Mentality: Prefers fostering shared ownership and mentoring engineers on best practices over simply closing tickets.
