About the Position
Introduction
Front is a customer operations platform designed for B2B complexity, ensuring teams, tools, and customer conversations are synchronized for scalable operations. The Core Product Experience (CPX) team enhances the primary Front application, focusing on the inbox and related interfaces to boost efficiency and user satisfaction. This role is central to shaping product strategy, particularly with the integration of AI-powered workflows.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of high-impact frontend initiatives from problem framing to launch and iteration across Web, Desktop (Electron), and Mobile clients.
- Drive technical direction for complex UI systems, influencing architecture, state management (e.g., Redux), and performance strategies for high-traffic workflows.
- Champion UX craft and product thinking, maintaining high standards for interaction details, accessibility, and polish, and advocating for user experience improvements based on feedback and metrics.
- Partner deeply with Product and Design to shape requirements, identify risks, propose alternatives, and align on tradeoffs, while communicating clearly with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Raise the bar for quality and maintainability by improving testing, observability, and engineering standards to reduce regressions and accelerate iteration.
- Grow others and strengthen the team through mentorship, constructive code reviews, and fostering a collaborative, low-ego engineering culture.
Requirements
- Must Have:
- 7+ years of professional experience building complex, production web applications with a focus on frontend engineering.
- Deep proficiency with modern frontend technologies: React, TypeScript, and state management patterns (e.g., Redux).
- Demonstrated technical leadership, including leading projects, driving alignment, and delivering outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset, taking responsibility for end-to-end outcomes including reliability, maintainability, and post-launch iteration.
- High bar for UX, shipping polished, accessible experiences that prioritize speed, intuition, and delight.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, articulating tradeoffs clearly and working effectively with cross-functional partners.
- Should Have:
- Experience building and evolving shared systems like component libraries, design systems, and platform patterns.
- Strong performance and debugging skills, including profiling, reducing re-renders, and improving perceived performance.
- Pragmatic problem-solving approach, understanding tradeoffs and valuing iterative shipping without sacrificing long-term quality.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Electron or desktop applications.
- Experience in high-volume, real-time, or collaborative UI (rich text editing, multi-user state).
- Experience in B2B SaaS, productivity, collaboration, or customer communication products.
