Introduction

As a Senior Developer Advocacy Engineer, you will be the primary architect behind Grafana’s new Interactive Learning Plugin. This role involves building an open-source platform within the product to help millions of users master observability. You will ship production code that simplifies complex workflows for both Grafana Cloud and the community version, enabling even non-engineers to contribute high-quality educational content.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop Grafana's new Interactive Learning Plugin.
• Ship production-ready code that simplifies complex workflows for Grafana Cloud and community users.
• Ensure the platform allows non-engineers to contribute educational content.
• Utilize AI tools extensively for prototyping, refactoring, and test generation.
• Apply senior-level judgment to ensure robust and maintainable code.
• Take end-to-end responsibility from design to documentation.
• Participate in a modern DevOps on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Strong experience with TypeScript, Go, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in building scalable observability tools.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and agentic workflows (e.g., using Cursor, Claude Code).
• A deep understanding of the open-source ecosystem, particularly LGTM (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir) stack.
• Ability to scope, iterate, and validate development effectively.
• Strong technical writing skills for documentation.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Prometheus, OpenTelemetry.
