About the Position

Introduction

Dataiku is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for a unique role that combines hands-on technical problem-solving with client-facing engagement. You will be instrumental in guiding clients through the Dataiku platform, from discovery and integration to co-developing and deploying data science projects.

Responsibilities

Scope and co-develop production-level data science projects with customers across diverse industries and use cases.
Help users discover and master the Dataiku platform through training, office hours, and ongoing consultative support.
Provide strategic input to customer and account teams to ensure customer success.
Offer data science expertise to both customers and Dataiku's internal sales and marketing teams.
Lead technical data science projects, including pre-sales scoping and designing compelling proposals.
Identify and flag technical and non-technical account risks (e.g., onboarding issues, performance pitfalls, timeline slippage).
Develop custom Python-based “plugins” in collaboration with Solutions, R&D, and Product teams to enhance Dataiku’s functionality.
Lead Data Scientist engagements, coordinating agile sprints, prioritizing tasks, estimating effort, and conducting backlog grooming.
Participate in demo booth/tech talk duties at company public events (e.g., Everyday AI).
Conduct technical interviews for Junior Data Scientist candidates.
Contribute to 2 internal assets (internal best practice, external blog post, or public gallery project) per year.

Requirements

Curiosity and a strong desire to learn new topics and skills.
Empathy and a willingness to share knowledge with colleagues, customers, and the public.
Ability to clearly explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
5+ years of experience with Python and SQL.
5+ years of experience building ML models and using ML tools (e.g., scikit-learn).
Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs).
Experience with data visualization and building web apps using Python frameworks (Dash, Streamlit).
Understanding of underlying data systems, including Cloud architectures and SQL.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Must be located within the CST, MST, and PST time zones.

Nice to Have

Experience using Dataiku DSS.
Experience in Consulting and/or customer-facing Data Science roles.
Experience in the Manufacturing & Defense sector.
Experience with Data Engineering or MLOps.
Experience developing WebApps in Javascript.
Experience building APIs.
Passion for teaching or public speaking.
