As a Senior Data Scientist for Special Projects at WattTime, your main goal is to maximize climate impact with efficient effort. You will use AI-assisted development to create functional prototypes for emissions monitoring rapidly, often achieving a proof-of-concept in a single day. This role bridges data science and product management, focusing on projects with the highest marginal gains for the planet.

Responsibilities

• Rapid Prototyping: Leverage AI-assisted development to build functional prototypes for emissions monitoring in record time.
• Prioritization: Ruthlessly prioritize projects based on their potential for marginal gains for the planet.
• AI Collaboration: Utilize AI coding agents to quickly integrate ETL pipelines and first-order models.
• Technical Communication: Clearly document complex technical methodologies and convey them through stakeholder-facing narratives.
• Data Navigation: Explore vast remote sensing and emissions datasets to pinpoint leverage points in the global energy grid.

Requirements

• Treats AI as a primary collaborator in development.
• Proficient in Python and Git.
• Experience with data assimilation, Bayesian updating, and causal inference.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Postgraduate degree.
