Senior Data Scientist

Dataiku is a company where Data Scientists engage in both technical solution development and client interaction. They work extensively on the Dataiku platform, utilizing Python and SQL primarily, with some exposure to R, PySpark, and JavaScript, to deliver innovative data science projects.

Introduction

The Data Scientist role at Dataiku is unique, combining real-world problem-solving with client-facing responsibilities throughout the customer journey. This includes platform discovery support, integration assistance, user training, and collaborative development of data science projects from design to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Co-develop production-level data science projects with customers.
• Analyze and investigate diverse data and machine learning applications across various industries and use cases.
• Facilitate user discovery and mastery of the Dataiku platform through training, office hours, and ongoing consultative support.
• Provide data science expertise to both customers and internal Dataiku sales and marketing teams.
• Develop custom Python-based “plugins” in collaboration with Solutions, R&D, and Product teams to enhance Dataiku’s functionality.

Requirements

• Fluent in English; fluent/native Arabic is a significant plus.
• Possess curiosity and a strong desire to learn new topics and skills.
• Exhibit empathy and eagerness to share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, customers, and the public.
• Ability to clearly explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• 2 - 10 years of experience with Python and SQL.
• 2 - 10 years of experience with building ML models and using ML tools (e.g., scikit-learn).
• Familiarity with data visualization in Python and R.
• Understanding of underlying data systems such as Cloud architectures, Hadoop, or SQL.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Consulting and/or Customer-facing Data Science roles.
• Experience with Data Engineering or MLOps.
• Experience developing WebApps in JavaScript, RShiny, or Dash.
• Experience building APIs.
• Experience using enterprise data science tools.
• Passion for teaching or public speaking.
