Senior Data Engineer - Platform Integrations

Introduction

ReduCate is on a mission to empower professionals across Europe through continuous learning and certification. We've recently secured significant growth equity investment and are rapidly acquiring and integrating new businesses into our existing multi-tenant platform. We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and run the data side of these migrations, ensuring a safe and predictable onboarding of new brands. Our platform currently serves doctors, lawyers, and teachers, and with each acquisition, it grows in scale, complexity, and impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes for migrating data from acquired businesses into ReduCate's multi-tenant platform.
• Collaborate with integration managers, product owners, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust and scalable data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the migration process, implementing best practices for data governance and compliance.
• Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems for data pipelines to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Optimize data architecture and processes for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency in a cloud-native environment (Azure).
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning sessions to contribute to the platform's technical direction.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering, recommending new tools and practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on data migration and integration projects.
• Expertise in designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines using various tools and technologies (e.g., Python, SQL, Azure Data Factory).
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data lake architectures.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure (Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, etc.).
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
• Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data-related issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

• Experience with stream processing technologies (e.g., Kafka, Azure Event Hubs).
