Introduction

Sopra Steria is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their team in Groningen, Netherlands. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects, leveraging your data expertise to convert raw data into actionable insights and build scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Convert raw data into usable insights.
• Design and optimize data infrastructure.
• Automate data processes to ensure seamless data delivery.
• Develop microservices to make data lakes more accessible and useful.
• Continuously seek innovative ways to improve data scalability and usability.
• Develop and implement data solutions from concept to deployment that support clients' strategic goals.

Requirements

• HBO, WO, or PhD degree.
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Expertise in Python, SQL, NoSQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Proficiency with Git and Docker.
• Knowledge of big data/distributed computing concepts.
• Experience in coaching and project management.
• Understanding of Data Governance.
• Skills in ETL/ELT processes.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

• Experience with Snowflake.
• Familiarity with Matillion.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Experience with Databricks.
• Business Intelligence (BI) skills.
