The Financial Services Consulting team supports banks, insurers, and pension funds with strategic and digital transformations, focusing on combining strategy and implementation, connecting business, technology, and organization, and working closely with clients.

Introduction

As a Consultant Financial Services Consulting at Sopra Steria Next, you will work with experienced consultants and clients on complex transformations within the financial sector. You will analyze issues, develop solutions, and support organizations in realizing change. You will work in an environment with multiple stakeholders, from IT architects to risk officers, product managers, and CIOs, and will be expected to provide direction and foster connections.

Responsibilities

• Participate in projects at leading financial institutions, supporting strategic and digital transformations.
• Analyze issues at the intersection of business, processes, data, and IT architecture.
• Advise on IT Operating Models, Target Operating Models (TOM), and organizational change.
• Support digital transformation programs such as migrations, core systems modernization, or platform development.
• Contribute to regulatory compliance issues, including DORA-compliance, ESG, Open Finance, and Instant Payments.
• Conduct business analyses and translate strategic choices into concrete roadmaps.
• Actively engage in stakeholder management with IT, business, and risk & compliance functions.
• Assist in preparing proposals, RFPs, and offers (depending on experience).
• Share knowledge within our Financial Services team and contribute to the further professionalization of our consulting practice.

Requirements

• HBO or university degree, for example, in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a comparable field of study.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in consulting, digital transformation, or program management.
• Experience within financial services, for example, at banks, insurers, fintechs, or pension funds.
• Experience with digital transformations, organizational change, or IT-driven projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with stakeholder management within projects.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

Nice to Have

• Experience with IT architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, or enterprise architecture.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum transformations, SAFe, or DevOps.
• Experience with regulatory compliance or risk management, for example, regarding DORA, GDPR, NIS2, or ESG.
• Experience with data & AI issues, such as data strategies, business intelligence, or data governance.
• Experience with core banking or insurance systems and financial processes.
• Experience in writing proposals.
• Knowledge of themes such as Open Finance, Instant Payments, ESG, or digital customer journeys.
• Certifications such as PRINCE2, IPMA, Scrum Master, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, or TOGAF are a plus.

• Permanent contract with a salary between €3,750 and €5,500 gross per month (based on 40 hours per week), depending on experience and level.
