Introduction

Common Room is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for building robust, scalable, and reliable APIs and systems to support their AI GTM Platform, which unifies buyer intelligence for GTM teams.

Responsibilities

• Quickly learn about the product, business, and technology.
• Independently own and execute backend features.
• Build efficient, scalable, and reliable APIs for internal and external use.
• Ensure Common Room’s core internal capabilities, infrastructure, and systems meet the needs of customers and the team.
• Identify and participate in important company-building initiatives.
• Collaborate effectively with other experienced engineers, including application/front-end engineers.
• Use customer problems as input for system design, creating simple and elegant solutions.
• Consider observability, SLA, and scalability implications, avoiding premature optimization.
• Build sustainably and manage time and priorities effectively.
• Demonstrate pride, ownership, and accountability for your work.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Ability to operate independently and seek support when needed.
• Passionate about backend development and capable of owning large projects.
• Good judgment on tradeoffs and tools, preferring stable technologies.
• Proficient with AWS, PostgreSQL, and Node.js.

Nice to Have

• Experience with technologies like TypeScript, TypeGraphQL, Apollo/Express, ClickHouse, React.
