Working as a Senior Backend Engineer

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of crafting elegant and robust backend solutions that power the Backbase Engagement Platform. You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and resilient microservices, ensuring seamless integration with various frontend applications and third-party systems. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and frontend developers, to deliver high-quality software that meets the evolving needs of our clients.

Who you are

Experienced: You have 5+ years of professional experience as a Backend Software Engineer, with a strong background in Java and Spring Boot. You have a solid understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native development principles (AWS, Azure, GCP). Proficient: You’re comfortable working with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL) and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS). You have experience with RESTful APIs, OpenAPI Specification, and other integration patterns. Team Player: You excel in a collaborative environment, actively participating in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing. You’re a strong communicator, able to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. Problem-Solver: You’re passionate about tackling challenging technical problems and finding innovative solutions. You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, maintainable code. Driven: You're constantly learning and adapting to new technologies, always seeking to improve your skills and stay ahead of the curve. You’re a self-starter who takes ownership of your work and drives projects to completion.
