Join our Mollie Capital team, a brand new vertical dedicated to empowering businesses by providing easy access to financing. When small businesses need capital for inventory, market expansion, or team growth, Mollie Capital helps remove these barriers. As a Senior Back-end Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our Capital product, owning key features and enjoying significant flexibility and impact within an early-stage team.

Responsibilities

Design and build new features related to the Capital product.
Develop robust and scalable systems to integrate with external partners for Capital offerings.
Improve existing systems through refactoring, migration, and building new components from scratch.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver optimal solutions for our customers.
Contribute to the team's roadmap and strategy.
Participate in code reviews, stand-ups, and other agile ceremonies.
Mentor and coach junior engineers.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in building back-end systems using PHP/Go/Java with MySQL/PostgreSQL/Redis and Google Cloud Platform.
Strong proficiency in Go or PHP, with bonus experience in other languages we use (e.g., Java, Python).
Experience in designing, building, and maintaining REST/gRPC APIs.
Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., Kafka).
Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure).
Experience working in an agile environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

Experience in the Fintech/Payments industry.
Experience with Data Streaming.
