Introduction

As a Senior Back-end Engineer specializing in Golang at Mollie, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and reliable back-end services. Join our mission as we scale into new markets and deliver delightful solutions that simplify financial services. You'll contribute to Mollie’s ambition to conquer new markets across Europe and simplify financial services for all of our customers, from initial sign-up to seamless transactions.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing robust, scalable, and high-performance back-end services using Golang.
• Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define, design, and ship new features.
• Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Troubleshooting and debugging production issues.
• Working towards a cloud-native architecture.
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in back-end development with a strong focus on Golang.
• Proven experience in designing and building scalable, distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
• Experience with messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the fintech or payments industry.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures.
• Experience with GraphQL.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
