Senior Back-End Engineer - Crypto

We are looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer to join Mollie’s Crypto team.

As a Senior Back-End Engineer, you will be solving complex payment processing business problems by designing, developing and shaping the future of our payment platform, which handles billions in transactions each year.

What you'll do:

Design, develop, and maintain a robust, scalable, and secure payment platform capable of handling high transaction volumes (Node.js, TypeScript and Go). Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define, design, and ship new features and enhance existing ones Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, and adherence to best practices, and contribute to the evolution of our technical stack and architectural patterns Build, operate, improve and troubleshoot services in a distributed event-driven system. Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth

What you'll need:

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Back-End engineering, with a strong focus on building scalable and resilient systems Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript. Experience with Go is a plus Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Redis) Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven patterns Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders You are comfortable operating a service in production with clear, actionable metrics and alerting, working with an on-call rotation Prior experience or strong interest in blockchain/cryptocurrencies/web3 technologies or payments/fintech is a plus

Good to have:

A Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or a related technical field

Each payment is processed by different microservices written in PHP, Node.js and Go. These services run in Kubernetes in AWS (EKS) and expose HTTP APIs. We also make use of Kafka, DynamoDB, Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch and more.

*Please note that we have a hybrid-work model (50/50 remote/office). The base pay for this role is between €70.000 - €95.000 gross per year, depending on your skills and experience.
