To make this happen, we’re looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Senior Back-End Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam.

What you'll do:

• Design, develop, and maintain Mollie’s core payment processing systems within a team of backend engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of applications
• Participate in code reviews, stand-ups, and sprint planning meetings
• Diagnose complex problems and lead the resolution of critical issues in production
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to keep our systems on the cutting edge

What you'll have:

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services
• Familiarity with distributed applications or event-driven architectures
• Strong communication skills enabling you to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
• A collaborative work style, actively sharing knowledge and seeking feedback from your teammates

What you might have:

• Experience working with large-scale payment systems
• Experience with PHP, Go, Kafka, MySQL, Kubernetes, AWS
• Previous experience in a fast-growing tech company
