    About the Position

    Introduction

    Mollie is looking for a driven Senior Accountant to join their team in Amsterdam. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of financial data, supporting strategic business decisions, and contributing to Mollie's growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical accounting knowledge and a proactive approach to optimizing financial processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the timely and accurate preparation and delivery of Mollie's monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Be responsible for multiple company entities within specific accounting domains.
    • Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process according to IFRS and local GAAP.
    • Participate in and lead accounting projects, such as the implementation of new accounting standards (IFRS/local GAAP) or finance system improvements.
    • Act as a reliable business partner for international entity controllers.
    • Support external auditors during year-end audits.
    • Collaborate with business and various departments to collect information, resolve issues, and implement processes.
    • Optimize financial processes to promote operational efficiency.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
    • At least 5+ years of relevant experience within an accounting firm (Big Four is a plus) or multinational corporation.
    • Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP (Dutch GAAP preferred).
    • Ability to work with high volumes of data.
    • Experience with Excel and accounting systems (preferably NetSuite).
    • Fluent in English; Dutch is a pre-requisite.
    • Strong communication and analytical skills.
    • Proactive approach, capable of working independently or in a team.
    • Able to organize and prioritize work efficiently.
    • Strong sense of ownership.
