Senior Accountant, Financial Close

Introduction

Paxos is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. This critical role involves orchestrating the financial close process, ensuring accuracy, and providing essential financial insights that influence strategic decisions. Responsibilities

• Perform both routine and complex monthly close responsibilities.
• Analyze books and records monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and international statutory reporting requirements.
• Liaise with external audit firms on both routine and non-routine matters.
• Participate in and guide the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and internal controls.
• Assist in designing new processes and enhancing existing ones; implement scalable processes to support Paxos’ growth, and drive continuous improvement.
• Enable Paxos to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
• Immerse yourself in blockchain technology, cryptocurrency for enterprises and investors, and our regulation-first approach.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of combined experience in public accounting (audit) and private/in-house accounting.
• Experience in start-ups and and/or financial services.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• CPA license.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience overseeing and managing accounting staff.
• Proficiency with NetSuite ERP or other cloud-based accounting software.
• Strong drive to continuously improve accounting operations, controls, and financial reporting processes, including leveraging systems and technologies to enhance workflows and scalability.
• Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.
