Responsibilities

As a Security Consultant, your tasks will include:

• Monitoring and securing a complex and crucial Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure.
• Identifying and formulating improvement proposals.
• Establishing regulations, manuals, and guidelines in the field of Security.
• Analyzing, adapting, and improving cybersecurity procedures.
• Translating new laws and regulations in cybersecurity into suitable applications.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders.

Requirements

• HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Security Consultant role or similar position.
• Experience with laws and regulations within cybersecurity.
• Analytical, ambitious, eager to learn, and strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of OT is a plus.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

The organization where you will work as a Security Consultant is a prominent player in the Netherlands in water management and research. From various locations, the organization works on water-related issues for diverse target groups. They utilize various production environments that control different components. In recent years, they have noticed that these components are increasingly under pressure due to cybercrime, among other factors. This has led them to seek a Security Specialist for the team responsible for the organization's process automation/OT.

As a Security Consultant, you will work within a 5-person team on diverse security issues, closely monitoring laws and regulations and translating them into appropriate security policies. You will resolve security incidents and explore ways to further improve system security. Additionally, you will perform operational tasks to support the team. You will serve as an advisor within your team and to management on cybersecurity matters. You will closely monitor compliance with security policies and support certification processes. There is significant freedom to perform your role and develop professionally.
