Introduction

Sopra Steria is seeking a driven Security Consultant with expertise in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring organizations operate in a structured and demonstrably secure manner, supporting vital sectors across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Advise on security policies, frameworks, and strategic choices.
• Help organizations understand risks and define appropriate measures.
• Collaborate closely with technical teams, management, and stakeholders to align security decisions with operational and strategic needs.
• Conduct risk analyses, maturity assessments, and compliance checks.
• Support audits and guide improvement trajectories.
• Ensure processes and responsibilities are clearly documented.
• Play a significant role in fostering security awareness and organizational change.
• Explain the necessity of security measures and their contribution to reliable and responsible digital services.
• Independently develop and implement robust security policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Strong foundational knowledge and experience in information security.
• Completed HBO (higher vocational education) or WO (university) degree, preferably with a focus on IT, Cyber Security, Security Management, or Crisis Management.
• Certifications in information security such as CISM, ISO27001 Lead Implementer, CRISC, or CISSP.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications like OSCP.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in information security.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively navigate conflicting stakeholder interests.
• Ability to handle resistance, remaining clear, calm, and convincing when explaining difficult choices or guiding change processes.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
