Research Manager

Introduction

Syndica is seeking a Research Manager to lead and drive its impactful crypto research function. This role is a hybrid of product management and research, focusing on delivering insightful analysis within the Web3 and Solana ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily research workflows and enhance the editorial process.
• Collaborate closely with Research Engineers to develop sector-specific reports.
• Think strategically about crypto sectors, drive analysis, and identify insights.
• Suggest areas for further inquiry and coordinate feedback from team members.
• Own special research projects.
• Organize research workflows, including daily huddles, content tracking, timeline management, and monitoring ecosystem channels (Telegram, Twitter, Email) for insights.
• Manage the editorial process from draft to publication, including reviewing, refining, and incorporating feedback.
• Bring fresh perspectives to publishing processes and ideate new initiatives for reach and distribution.
• Shape innovative research projects and guide the research team's direction.
• Collaborate with Syndica’s Infrastructure and Open Source teams for research, leveraging proprietary data and domain expert feedback.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in an academic-grade crypto research publishing house, conducting VC/IB/PE-style emerging technologies market analysis at an investment firm focused on crypto, or corresponding analytical domains.
• Ability to critically analyze blockchain-based businesses and their market positioning (on-chain and real-world).
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, set deadlines, coordinate feedback, and drive deliverables with ownership.
• Collaborative mindset, willing to work closely with technical Research Engineers to extract insights from on-chain data.
• Understanding of data science concepts and an intermediary grasp of statistical analysis.
• Proactive and adaptable attitude, willing to take on tasks as needed.
