Introduction

Anchorage Digital is seeking a dedicated Product Manager, Security to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in defining and executing the product strategy that enhances our defense-in-depth architecture and operational controls across all of Anchorage Digital's offerings. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the security posture of a leading digital asset platform for institutions.

Responsibilities

• Own the product strategy and execution for strengthening defense-in-depth architecture and operational controls in custody, wallets, authorization, policy, and risk systems.
• Collaborate with Security, Platform, Core Experience, Protocols, and Compliance teams to deliver secure-by-default capabilities meeting bank-grade and auditor expectations without compromising developer velocity or client experience.
• Define and manage the roadmap for security platform capabilities, including cloud defense, secrets management, HSM-bound workflows, and secure-by-default developer tooling.
• Translate regulatory, audit, and risk requirements into actionable product features and guardrails for internal teams and client-facing applications.
• Establish clear product requirements, success metrics, and post-ship control evidence to enable efficient verification by Security, Risk, and Audit.
• Prioritize the security product roadmap in collaboration with the security engineering team, balancing new development with technical debt reduction for long-term platform health.
• Shape the roadmap with strategic thinking, considering the threat landscape, regulatory demands, competitive positioning, and customer needs.
• Lead complex, cross-functional security projects with various dependencies (Security Engineering, Platform, Core Experience, Compliance), ensuring swift execution and quality.
• Drive comprehensive go-to-market strategies for security capabilities, defining metrics, tracking KPIs, and iterating based on data-driven insights.
• Understand system architectures (cryptographic primitives, HSMs, authN/Z, secure enclaves) and communicate clear technical requirements to engineering teams.
• Contribute strategic insights to company direction, control coverage, and the overall security roadmap.
• Provide product leadership that enhances team performance across security and platform domains.
• Develop a deep understanding of Anchorage Digital’s business model, organizational structure, regulatory posture, and strategic priorities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in Security, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, and Operations.
• Improve organizational processes to enhance efficiency, safety, and auditability.
• Influence and motivate teams through respectful engagement, aligning them with broader organizational security and product goals.
• Enable cross-functional collaboration through clear communication and strategic influence on decision-making.
• Communicate effectively with executives, auditors, and prospective customers regarding control intent, coverage, evidence, and roadmap tradeoffs.
• Act as a thoughtful knowledge partner to senior leadership, improving organizational security dynamics.

Requirements

• 6+ years in product management, with at least 3 years focused on platform or security products in regulated or high-assurance environments.
• Strong technical fluency in one or more of the following: cryptographic primitives, authentication/authorization (authN/Z), Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and key management, secrets management, secure software delivery, runtime isolation, or threat modeling.
• Demonstrated track record of shipping platform controls that are both developer-friendly and audit-ready.
• Experience converting regulatory or control frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, FFIEC, OCC expectations, ISO 27001) into practical product requirements.
• Comfortable operating across deeply technical teams and non-technical stakeholders (Security, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Client Success).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proven experience in driving and managing complex projects across multiple teams, demonstrating exceptional leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Empathetic and adaptable, complementing diverse working styles and embodying a culture of curiosity, creativity, and shared understanding.

Nice to Have

• Experience in digital assets or financial infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with hardware signing flows, policy engines, or secure enclave/HSM integrations.
• Built systems for straight-through-processing with pre-authorization risk decisions.
• Familiarity with incident response and detection engineering product needs.
• Experience writing your own smart contract or dApp.
• Experience building 0-to-1 products for financial institutions, either as a Product Manager or a developer.
