About the Position

Introduction

Anchorage Digital is seeking a Product Control Lead to safeguard the financial integrity of our principal trading activities. This role bridges complex on-chain and off-chain trading activities with institutional financial reporting. You will be responsible for end-to-end reconciliation of spot and complex derivative portfolios, ensuring accuracy, risk capture, and bulletproof reporting for leadership and regulators. You will build infrastructure to enable safe and scalable trading in a rapidly evolving market.

Responsibilities

Operational Workflow Mapping: Understand and document the end-to-end trading lifecycle, identifying bottlenecks and control gaps.
Reconciliation Ownership: Independently manage daily reconciliation of principal trading positions, resolving breaks proactively.
Automation: Automate categorization of system noise to focus daily reconciliation on genuine operational breaks.
Regulatory Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly regulatory filings (CFTC, SEC, etc.) and design data controls for trade reporting.
Compliance & Audit Readiness: Act as the primary point of contact for audits and regulatory inquiries, ensuring verifiable data backs all reports.
System Readiness: Act as a gatekeeper for new product launches, custodians, exchanges, and entity expansions, ensuring functional reconciliation logic and platform access.
Process Engineering: Identify systemic data quality gaps and collaborate with Engineering and Data teams to build automated solutions for trade capture and reporting.
Cross-Functional Fluency: Serve as the link between the Trading Desk, Risk Management, Engineering, and Accounting, ensuring a single source of truth for firm exposure.
Market Context: Stay informed on market trends in traditional and digital asset derivatives, understanding regulatory impacts on capital requirements and reporting.
Stakeholder Management: Translate complex data breaks or accounting treatments into clear summaries for non-technical stakeholders (e.g., Head of Trading, CFO).
Constructive Challenge: Challenge valuation discrepancies or booking errors, balancing business partnership with rigorous control.

Requirements

6-10 years of experience in Product Control, Middle Office, or Fund Accounting, specifically supporting a principal trading or derivatives desk.
Professional experience using SQL or Python for data analysis.
Deep understanding of how trading data flows from execution platforms into sub-ledgers.
Proficiency in SQL and Python/R to automate large-scale reconciliations.
Granular understanding of derivative products (Options, Perpetuals, Swaps, Futures), including valuation mechanics, Greeks (Delta, Gamma, Vega), and lifecycle events.
Ability to design and implement robust control frameworks for new trading products.
Deep curiosity for how financial products work and a "detective" mindset for data reconciliation.
Autonomous, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment requiring deep data analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.

Nice to Have

Experience with digital assets, on-chain data (block explorers), or DeFi protocols.
Experience using BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or Alteryx to build automated financial dashboards.
Professional certification such as CFA, FRM, or CPA.
